So how’d I do?
After my check in post last month, (if you didn’t see that check it out here) there were just a few things left on my list.
*Hike Suicide Rock
*Try Thai Basil
*Eat an ice cream cone
*Visit a farmers market
*Go star gazing
*See a movie in the park
*Day at the beach
Well I really tried my best to complete my summer bucket list, but with the wedding fast approaching and me getting a second job, not all went according to plan.
I did not see a movie in the park :/ The park’s movie schedule did not work with my schedule. But I think this will make my bucket list again next year. Fingers crossed
I also was unable to spend a day at the beach. This item may have been wishful thinking. Here in Utah there are NO beaches. I was hoping to spend a day at Daybreak’s lake with its sandy beach, but once again time seemed to get away from me.
I didn’t get time to hike Suicide rock either. By the time I got home each night from work it was far too late to make it out and have enough light to safely hike the rock.
I did get to complete quite a few more items though!
*Tyler and I got ice cream cones from McDonalds. ( I mean we are on a budget) I love the soft serve ice cream from there. It’s the perfect summer treat.
*We also tried Thai Basil. We stayed and dined in and the restaurant was really cute with fun decorations. However the food was not as impressive as I thought it was going to be. While it was good quality and did taste delicious, it didn’t compare to our other favorites. We tried the Pad Thai and the Sweet and Sour Calamari. I loved the calamari, but Tyler thought it was a little spicy. Overall decent food, but not up to the hype in my opinion.
*I had the chance to go wander and take photos of my local farmer's market. This market is just a 5 minute walk from my apartment. So I took a little stroll. It was lots of fun to go around the market and know that what I’m buying is grown just behind the little shop. Here’s some cute photos from my trip :)
*I love looking at the stars. It’s seriously so peaceful, and the night sky is one of my favorite views. I try to stargaze from my balcony as often as possible, but it’s even better when I can get a little out of the city. Tyler has a spot up in a developing subdivision in Herriman that has a great spot for stargazing. We did make it there this summer.
