So far completing my bucket list has been such a lot of fun! Drive in movies -Check! 5k Bubble Run- Check! Taylorsville Dayzz-Check! Watch fireworks-Check! - Drive In Movies Tyler and I got to go out on a date to the zoo and then the drive in movies. I was so excited to go to the movies. Tyler and I had been before but it was years ago. We planned to see a double feature: Cars 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales. The theater we went to was on Redwood Road and ?. We got there kinda close to the start time of Cars 3 because we had stopped at a fabulous little soda shop on the way (Sodalicious). So getting there later than we planned gave us a poor parking spot. We couldn't see the screen by sitting in the trunk of our borrowed SUV. Instead we climbed ontop of Tyler's mom's Suburban. It was still a fun experience, just not as cozy and comfortable as I had been expecting. So we didn't really get to cuddle. :/ However it was a fun experience :) Due to our poor vantage point, Tyler and I actually left after Cars and didn't stay for Pirates (which sucks cuz I still haven't seen it). Cars was a super cute movie and I really enjoyed the unexpected ending. I feel like it was a good wrap up to the series. - 5k Bubble Run Colored bubbles and running? How much more fun could you get?? This is the second bubble run I've done and hope to make it a yearly summer tradition. For those of who you don't know how cool the bubble run is; it's a traveling 5k that gives runners what they call a "good clean run". The bubbles are set at intervals throughout the 5k and each station has a color. (which is super cool cuz the colors will stain your white bubble run shirt) The bubbles are more like foam and each station fills up with the colored suds. At one point the bubbles were chest height! Running through them is so much fun! If you haven't tried this event you should totally sign up! -Taylorsville Dayzz This bucket list item is another fun tradition! Ever since I was about 14 (so 6 years ago) my family and some friends would grab a KFC bucket, take a blanket, and head to the fair at Taylorsville Dayzz. My sisters and I would have lots of fun riding the rides at the fair and playing games. The night would end with the coolest firework display. It's such a good memory that I try to make it every year. This year made it pretty tricky for us to make it there. Now that Tyler and I both work two jobs (weddings don't pay for themselves!) we're super busy. However we made it work and got to experience Taylorsville Dayzz 2017. To be honest this Bucket List item was a total fail. Tyler and I went with some friends to this fair and because of all our crazy schedules we didn't get there till 9 pm. Parking was terrible! We had to park super far away and ended up walking about 15 min to get there. Once we got to the park we simply took one lap around all the activities/booths, watched only the first half of the firework show, and then left in order to beat the mad rush to leave. Overall the fair was super crowded and the lines looked to be at least a 45 minute wait for anything there. Although it was crowded, I still think the firework show is one of the best. The fireworks are fun and colorful. The show even lasted about half an hour! -Watch Fireworks
While this may seem like a silly bucket List item to most, fireworks is one of my favorite things about July. I love looking out over the valley and see a whole bunch of colors lighting up the sky. This year we kept our 4th of July fireworks simple. We got the cheesy fountains and sparklers from the local firework tent. It was nice and simple and reminded me that life doesn't always need to be over the top. Life is best wonderfully normal. ~Kylie
