I never used to be into watching TV or movies. As a kid I’d much rather pick up a book and sit and read for hours than watch TV. And you know, I’m not even ashamed of that. I still love reading and am so thankful that my parents encouraged it the way they did. I really wish I had more time for reading, and I’m sure I could find a way to fit it in, however I have found more of an interest in TV shows and movies. This is mostly due to Tyler. He’s a big movie/TV show watcher. So this has become something we enjoy doing together. In fact, almost every show on this list he introduced me to. Now that I’m done rambling… Here’s my favorite TV shows. How I Met Your Mother. This is the first TV series Tyler and I watched together. It’s about a group of friends that are experiencing the ups and downs of the grown up world while Ted, the main character, is looking for a wife. The Office Now I’m going to admit, Tyler had to work really hard to convince me to watch this show. I had seen a couple episodes and just really did not like Michael’s insensitive humor. However once I got into the show more, I fell in love with the main love connection. Now this is one of my favorites to just put on Netflix when I need background noise. New Girl I love this show about crazy roommates trying to figure out life, love, and jobs. Jess, the main character, is so funny and is not one of those perfect girls. She seems really real to me and I feel a connection to her. Friends This show is not one Tyler introduced me to. We actually watched it for the first time together and it was great. I love the group dynamic and the humor is great. I’m also so jealous that I don’t have a cute coffee shop to hang out with my friends in. These are pretty much the shows that I play on repeat. I will turn any of these on just for fun, but I also watch some other shows. I’m not super into them, but I do really enjoy watching them. The Flash The DC superhero of speed. It’s a really great show that I’ve enjoyed getting into. Doctor Who I haven’t watched this show in years, but it’s a good one. Matt is totally my doctor. Supernatural Another I haven’t watched in a while. It’s an intense show with lots of action Sherlock The BBC show is so awesome. I love the adventure and seeing sherlock figure clues out Pretty Little Liars I started watching this show in middle school and got hooked. Kinda a thriller with lots of plot twists. I’ve also enjoyed Switched At Birth, Secret Life of the American Teenager, and The 100. Tyler and I are currently watching That 70’s Show together for the first time. And I’m watching the Arrow for the first time. So far I’m really enjoying both shows. Thanks for checking out what I like to watch! Hope you found some inspiration!

On Thursday March 8th, Tyler and I left our cluttered, packed up apartment to head on another trip. This time we’re headed to Seaside Oregon. That’s about a 12 hour drive away from home. So we started our long road trip after we got off of work Thursday. We left around 4:30 pm and stopped to pick up Tyler’s brother Jordan. The rest of Tyler’s family had left about an hour ago, but since Tyler and I worked, we left later. We planned on stopping in Ontario Oregon to stay the night. We arrived at our hotel at around 10:30 pm. It was a late night and our bed in the hotel was super super comfy. So Tyler and I slept really well. Friday morning we got up, had breakfast and hit the road. Again. This half of the drive seemed to take longer than the first half. Finally we got to Salem where we stopped to visit Tyler’s dad and his other brothers. However we had some time to kill, so we visited Tyler’s old house, and checked out a really cute coffee shop called Ike Box. I really liked the vibe of the shop and the drink I got was yummy. Then we made our way to Tyler’s dad’s house. We stopped by for dinner and just to relax. They even celebrated Tyler’s birthday since they didn’t get to see him. Once we finished our cake we were back on the road for the last little bit of our trip. This drive was just two hours and wasn’t bad. We arrived at the condo at Seaside around 10 pm. And man this place was niiice. I have never stayed in one of these condos, but Tyler has multiple times. I was so impressed at how nice our room was, we even had a fireplace, a full kitchen with fully stocked cabinets, and a bbq. The only crappy thing was the bed. The only bed we had in our room was a murphy bed and it was so so so uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep very well the whole time we stayed there. But I was still super impressed by the condo and was really excited that I could see the beach from our patio. Saturday was our first day of just relaxing. We had a late breakfast and then headed out to visit the Tillamook cheese factory. While we were there the factory tour was closed down due to some remodeling they were doing. So I didn’t get to see the cheese getting made, but I did get to taste it. Let me tell you, I am not a plain cheese type of person, I really don’t like eating cheese unless it’s on/in something else. Well these cubes of cheese I tasted were so good! I really loved the blackpepper one, so much so that we bought some to take home with us. Then we moved onto the ice cream which was even better! I got a scoop of sea salt honeycomb toffee. It was amazing. After Tillamook, Tyler’s mom suggested going to another cheese factory. We drove down the road to a place called Blue Heron. This shop was really cozy and had lots of tastings. French cheese, dips, mustards, and wine. Everything was so tasty. While there I got to do some wine tasting! It was really good and I enjoyed the experience of tasting lots of different kinds. I loved this dessert wine and even bought a bottle! After our cheese tastings we headed back to the beach, surprise surprise Tyler and I took a nap. After we got up we headed down for an evening on the beach. I was so excited. The sandy part of the beach was huge and went on and on. The water was so pretty and there were cliffs surrounding one side of the coast. When I got close enough to get my toes in I about squealed. The water was so very cold. But because I love water so much, I pushed through the cold. Once my toes went numb, it was so much more enjoyable. After splashing around, we settled in to make a fire. It was so cool. I’ve never had a fire on the beach before and I loved it. It was so relaxing and just beautiful. We roasted hot dogs over the fire and just relaxed. Once the sun set it got really cold so we headed back to the condo to watch tv and fall asleep. The next day was spent on the boardwalk. It’s really just this street of little shops that lead up to beach front. They were cute shops, but Tyler and I didn’t find anything we wanted to buy. Well that is except for our shot glass. (If you don’t know, Tyler and I collect a shot glass from everywhere we visit) However his family really enjoyed the shops so we stayed for a good part of the day. Tyler and I stopped for lunch at a local bar and grill place. We ordered fish and chips that were pretty good. After lunch we headed back to the condo to relax for a little. We ate some hamburgers for dinner that night that were really good. After dinner we headed back down to the beach. I really wish I lived by a beach. That night we were pretty tired and decided to head to bed pretty early. The next morning was our checkout date. We left the condo around 8 am to go get some breakfast. Then we were back on the road headed to Vancouver Washington which is where Tyler’s great grandma lives. After a 3 hour drive we arrived at the JC Penny’s in the mall to take some family portraits with grandma. I mean you only turn 100 once right? After the fiasco of posing and getting so many people to cooperate, we headed back to grandma’s nursing home. We ordered some pizza for lunch and played some card games. Several hours later we gathered in the rec room and got out the cake. We sang to her and laughed at her silly faces. She’s still got some great personality and attitude for being so old. Once the party was over Tyler, Jordan, and I hit the road. We drove through the night, stopping a couple times to get some naps in. We arrived home at 7:30 am on Tuesday morning. The trip was so much fun, and I am totally in love with Oregon. Between the endless trees, stormy skies, and gorgeous coast, what’s not to love? Be sure to check out my vlog of our trip too! Thanks for reading! I got Tyler and I chocolate advent calendars and love this tradition. I’ve never seen fancy advent calendars before this year and really wish I had. They look so amazing and I wish I could afford them all. I would love to get a wine advent or a coffee advent.I think it’s a super fun twist on the chocolate one’s I’ve been eating since I was five. Advent calendars are a very important tradition to me because it’s something you get to do every day and really keeps the Christmas spirit going every day of the month. I hope everyone enjoys their advent calendars! I can’t believe fall is already over. Man time flew by! I did get to most of my bucket list, it was so much fun and really made my fall special. Completed: Pumpkin Spice Coffee Date I love love love coffee and Tyler and I made it for coffee several times this fall season. While pumpkin spice is great, I found a new favorite. Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino at Starbucks was incredible. I will totally be going back for more. Pumpkin Picking I had a great time pumpkin picking with Tyler this year. Our first time at the pumpkin patch as a married couple was pretty great. Carve a Pumpkin Totally nailed this one. I love having carved pumpkins out on the porch it really makes me feel like halloween. Visit a Corn Maze We totally went to a corn maze and were quite disappointed. The maze was totally lame and didn’t even have an exit. So hopefully next year we can go to one that’s more fun. Drive Through the Canyon This was one of the first items I completed. Tyler and I drove through the canyon in early September and there was already snow! So crazy. I was excited for beautiful leaves and bright colors. Instead I got cold snow. Next year we’ll have to go up the canyon earlier. Halloween Party I love throwing parties and really enjoyed putting this one together. It was a lot of fun, even if we didn’t get any trick or treaters. You can read about the entire party here. Wear a Couples Costume Tyler and I dressed up for Halloween as a T-Bird and Pink Lady. Totally adorable and it was so fun. Drink Apple Cider I served a delicious apple cider drink at the Halloween party that everyone enjoyed. I even served it out of a pumpkin. Totally yummy. Friendsgiving This one was a huge success. The food was delicious and my friends were amazing. We had a great time eating and then had a blast playing games. Incomplete Apple Picking I wanted to experience apple picking for the first time, but I couldn’t find a place to go apple picking, so if you know of any farms that let you pick your own apples please let me know! Bake an Apple Pie This one kind of goes with the apple picking, I was planning on picking the apples and going home and baking a pie. However since the apple picking didn’t happen, the pie baking didn’t happen. Overall this fall was amazing and I loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to see what winter brings my way. As I kept up on my bi-weekly thankful thoughts posts, I noticed more and more things I’m thankful for. It’s been an amazing eye opener and is something I will continue in my mind and then again next November. I’m so thankful for many things in my life and I’d like to share 25 of them with you.
I know that everyone and their mom lists out their family and significant other as the first few, so to keep it interesting, I’ll post a short reason why I’m thankful for them.
2. Binks Yes I have to do my cats seperately. They are both so unique and I love each in a different way. Binks is a wild cat and always makes me smile. While he doesn’t love to be held, he loves his tummy rubbed and his face scratched. I’m so thankful we brought him into our life. 3. Weasley I love my little orange fur ball so much. He’s such an adorable, sweet kitten. He loves to be held and always is up for snuggles. He loves to fall asleep on my pillow with me. I love him so much and am so glad I was able to add the sweetest kitten ever to my little family. 4. Amanda Amanda is totally the best cousin one could ask for. She’s my best friend and I can always count on her for a coffee run or a random adventure. Although we never take photos of our times together, we have so much fun. Thanks for being my best friend. 5. My Mom I love my Momma so much and she has been such a great teacher in my life. She’s given me so many life skills that I didn’t even know I had. I am so blessed to have her as my mom. 6. Kim I’ve already posted a thankful thought about my boss Kim, but she’s so wonderful that I have to do another. She has been so kind to me and has given me confidence in myself. She’s encouraged me to do so much and I could never thank her enough. 7. My Blog This may be a strange thing to be thankful for, but I totally am. I love that I have this creative space to share my thoughts and feelings, even if nobody reads it. I love blogging for me. 8. My Car While my car totally isn’t the car of my dreams, I love it. I’m so thankful that I have a nice reliable car to get me places. 9. The Kids I adore the kids I work with more than anything else. They are so pure and happy. I will never be able to accurately describe the amount of love I have for them. So many times I have teared up because someone said my name for the first time, or I see one child comfort another who is upset. These kids are teaching me so much more than I could ever teach them. I don’t know what I did to be so lucky as to know them, but I am so thankful for them. I love you all. 10. Tyler (again) While I’ve already thanked him for being the best friend I could ever have and I am so glad he’s my husband, I also want to take a separate moment to be thankful of how hard he works. Taking on a second job for us is amazing and I really appreciate it. He’s such a hard worker and I know that he will always strive for us to have financial security. 11. My Camera I find so much joy in taking photos. I am so thankful that I have a nice camera that lets me pursue this dream of mine. 12. Marriage Okay guys, I love being married. It’s honestly the best. I have a partner in everything and a strong support system. I am so thankful that I got to marry the man of my dreams. My husband is the best and our marriage is already #goals. 13. Friends I am so thankful for all those people I call friend. While I don’t have the space to write out something about every friend I have, I am thankful for the support they give and the fun times we have. 14. Fall I am thankful I live in a place where falls are beautiful and crisp. I love everything about fall and am so thankful for this season. 15. My Apartment So thankful for the cute, perfect apartment I have. I love being out on my own and having a place to decorate. I can’t wait to own a home, but for now I am thankful for my apartment that’s all my own. 16. Being Young This is also a strange thing to be thankful for, but I totally am. I love that Tyler and I are young, that we married young, and that we have the freedom to do what we want. I want a family and to be a mom, but for now I’m thankful to be young and free. I want to experience all that life has to offer to young me. 17. My Healthy Body While I don’t always love the way my body looks, I really am thankful that it is strong and healthy and can do what I need it to. 18. Technology I think technology gets a really bad rep. I am so thankful for all the technology in my life. Really if I had to do even half of what is done for me with technology I would be exhausted. I am thankful that it makes my life easier and gives me time to focus on the important things in my life. 19. Food This is a broad one, but I’m thankful that I have access to good healthy food as well as the occasional splurge on junk food. 20. Traditions As Tyler and I start our family off, we have talked a lot about what we want to do for holidays and what traditions we want to have. I am thankful that we can create our own traditions. I love the value they hold and how connected to my family they make me feel. Traditions are wonderful. 21. My Phone I am so thankful that I live in a time where I have access to so much information through my phone. I carry it everywhere and I can be so connected. While you have to choose to use this connection positively, I am so amazed at how easy it is to connect with others. I’m thankful that I can use my phone to find out how old my fave celebrity is as well as call my grandma I haven’t seen in months. 22. Pinterest I am a totally pinterest mom (minus the mom part) and I spend hours on this site. However I am so thankful for it. It has given me so much joy and many ideas. 23. Coffee This is a horrible thing to put on my list, but I really am thankful for coffee. It’s one of my favorite drinks, but I’m mostly thankful for it because it brings me close to others. I love coffee dates and supporting local coffee shops. 24. My New Family An amazing thing about marriage is having your extended family grow. I am so thankful to get the chance to have a family relationship with Tyler’s side and love each new member. 25. My Blessings I’m sure that I’ve forgotten lots of things I should be really thankful for, I know I live a very blessed and spoiled life. I want you guys to know that I am very thankful for all that I have. *Kylie |
