Day 14 Presents I wanted as a kid I thought this topic would be fun to write about. As I think back over my years of Christmas lists and what I wanted I noticed that my childhood is very different than those who are children now. Ha does that make me sound old?? Something that almost always made it on my Christmas list was Littlest Pet Shop toys. I loved those. Even now I have a huge collection of them at my parents house. I also wanted Tamagotchis for several years in a row. Funny that this year this item made it back on my list. When I was quite a bit younger, I remember really wanting an art kit. You know those huge ones with a full set of markers, crayons, colored pencils, paints, and oil pastels. I remember finally getting it and loving it. It seems that every child had a ridiculous Christmas list item. For most it was a pony, but for me it was a laptop. I think I asked for one for every Christmas. Of course I never got it, but its funny to think that 13 year old me really thought my parents might get me one. What was on your childhood Christmas lists?

Day 13: My Christmas Wish
Honestly as I grow older my list grows shorter. I start to want the things you can't buy. This year I am wishing for friends and family to be safe and to feel the love and joy of this season. I also wish for service to be on everyone's mind and to participate in the little things. I also am wishing for each and everyone of you guys to have a magical and loving holiday season. Day 12
I’m getting really excited to host a Christmas party this year! There’s lots of planning involved and it’s getting down to crunch time. As I’ve been getting the food and drinks figured out, I’ve decided to focus more on games for this party, which is totally weird because the food is usually my main event. I’ve found lots of fun party games and am excited to announce that we will be playing many fun games. Snowman shake will be first up. You tie a tissue box filled with plastic ornaments “snowballs” around the player’s waist. He or she then has one minute to shake all the snowballs out! Chopsticks is next. This one is a game of fine motor skills. Using chopsticks players will go head to head to see who can pick up the most marshmallows into their bowl in a minute. Plate drawing will bring our games to an end. Players will sit with a paper plate on their head and using a pen/marker will follow instructions from the host to draw a holiday scene. Prizes will be given for the best drawings. And last but not least we will be doing a fun white elephant gift exchange! (Mine’s a pretty awesome gift! You’ll have to look for my post after the party) I am excited to spend time with the friends I really love this holiday season. Day 11 Honestly I have a horrible memory. Tyler will be like remember that day we did this and this in the 10th grade and I’m like ummmm no. It’s terrible and makes me feel like I’m missing out. But I can call back hidden memories with photos and that's a huge reason why I love taking photos so much. About 9 years ago I was over at my grams’s house for our yearly Christmas Eve dinner. It was after we had eaten as much as we can and we were all sitting in our food coma. I was about 11 and my younger cousin was 7. He had had lots of sprite to drink because his mom wouldn’t let him have soda unless it was for an event. Well he was sprawled out over the stairs and moaned. He loudly said, My tummy hurts I drank too much. It made everyone there burst into giggles and is a joke we still bring up today. Looking back it really wasn’t that funny of a joke but it still makes me smile and think of Christmas and time with family. Day 10 I’m not a fan of hot coffee, I’ll order iced coffee and frappuccinos all year long, but this winter I’m going to try and switch it up. I’m going to order a few of my favorite iced drinks hot and then review them. I’m going to try the salted caramel mocha hot, it’s my absolute favorite frap and I hope I can fall in love with the hot drink too. I also want to try a caramel macchiato. I’ve tried it from my fave local coffee shop, High Pointe, but I want to try this one from Starbucks and see how it compares. The last drink I plan to try is the creme brulee from Starbucks just because. :) Happy sipping |
